Birth story - Georgia and baby Monroe

I was induced due to having high blood pressure and diet controlled gestational diabetes. I was induced at 38 weeks I started with the pessary which didn’t work and after 24 hours I was then offered the gel which normally works in up to 6 hours. An hour after having the gel inserted my water broke and I was having really strong surges. The midwife checked me and I was 5cm and I was rushed to the labour ward. I was doing my breathing technique learnt from your amazing course and was progressing along quickly.

The midwife checked me again 35 minutes later and I was 7cm but baby girls heart rate was dropping low every time I had a surge . After a talk with two doctors I was advised for the health of my baby to have an emergency c section. I was rushed in to operating theatre with my fiancé, given an epidural and straight away two doctors where preforming an emergency c section to get baby out.

She arrived healthy and happy at 6lb 2oz (considering I had gestational diabetes and was on a strict diet she was small ) doctors try to scare you and say your have big babies with GD. I had my birthing plan in place and was focused through every surge . But I did what had to be done to get my baby into the world healthy. Thank you for your amazing course. I will definitely be trying for a natural birth next time with your same techniques x
