Trying to Conceive

Are you family planning?

TTC is an acronym for Trying To Conceive, and refers to the period of time you are trying for a baby. Throughout family planning there are many different routes to conception and the time it takes to get pregnant varies from person to person. In fact, in a survey of 10,000 parents in our community, 76% said the time it took them to conceive was a surprise.

While no doubt a period of excitement and anticipation, this phase can also bring a lot of challenges and questions. Whether it’s working out how to best look after your physical and mental health during this time, navigating primary and secondary infertility, wondering what to eat or how to track your ovulation, or dealing with changes to your relationship that can come from the increased pressure of trying for a baby, this can be a confusing time.

Add to this that many people go through the TTC period alone and isolated, not sharing their concerns or troubles with family and friends due to the cultural norm of keeping this phase “secret”, the need for support becomes even more vital.

Arming yourself with knowledge and a community to navigate this phase with - whether you’re in the family planning stage or you hope to begin trying for a baby in the future - is key to your emotional, physical and mental wellbeing during the TTC phase.
